H Materials, a producer of industrial gas for semiconductors, was sued for patent infringement and for damages from its competitor, W Company. H Materials transferred the production facilities to S Materials, but the contract for a smooth transfer could be achieved only after solving the patent problem. AIP on behalf of H Materials put pressure on Company W's patent by filing an invalidation trial and a trial to confirm the scope of rights, and as a result, Company W gave up enforcing its patent rights against H Materials and S Materials. The patent dispute between the three companies was smoothly ended by agreement.
