Soowan Lee has devoted all of his legal career on intellectual property laws. He started his career as a legal counsel at Koreana Patent & Law Firm and later as a head of Saewon International Patent & Law Firm. He became the first attorney-at-law to be appointed a judge to the Korean Patent Court. Thereafter, he worked as a judicial research judge - the equivalent of a presiding judge in a district court - in charge of intellectual property cases at the Korean Supreme Court. After devoting many decades on intellectual property laws, Soowan Lee possesses a wealth of experience and expertise matched by no other.

Soowan Lee has been ranked as top intellectual property lawyer in Korea by Chambers & Partners in 2009.

Jintae Cho has accumulated years of experience in examinations, trials and Patent Court litigation through substantial work as an examiner at KIPO, head of the Automobile Division at KIPO, a trial examiner at KIPO, and a technical adviser at the Korean Patent Court.

Jaewoong Lee worked as a patent examiner, head of the Biotechnology Division at KIPO and a researcher at the Intellectual Property Tribunal (IPT). He served as a technical adviser at the Korean Patent Court as well as at the Korean Supreme Court. His several research papers on important issues and precedents in the field of patent law support that he is one of the most knowledgeable patent litigators in Korea.

Jongseop Yun served as an examiner in the General Machinery Division, and Organic Chemistry Division and as an assistant trial examiner at KIPO. As such, he has extensive understanding of the examination and trial procedures.

Hyunsoo Jeong served as a patent examiner in the Telecommunication division, a senior deputy director in the Semiconductor division, Information Technology Division and Patent Examination Policy Division at KIPO, and served as an assistant trial administration judge and a patent solicitor at IPT. He also served as an intellectual property adviser at SPO, issued several papers on the protection of patent rights, and took charge of amendment to Korean Patent Act and Patent Examination guide at Patent Examination Policy Divisions. As such, he is one of the most knowledgeable experts of the Korean patent system and practices.

Jongseop Yun received a Master of Engineering and a Ph.D. of Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in modern technology, e.g., electronic parts, nanotechnology, controls, mechatronics, robotics, sound and vibration.

Seongkyu Lee obtained a Master of Biotechnology from Graduate School of Agriculture at the University of Tokyo.

Jaewoong Lee obtained a Master of Engineering in Materials & Chemical Engineers from Hanyang University and he also obtained a polymer materials professional engineer.

Changyoung Kim obtained a Master of Engineering in Semiconductors from the Seoul National University.

Soowan Lee received an LL.M. on Patent Law from the University of Washington School of Law, under the guidance of Professor Donald S. Chisum, the world-renowned authority on patent law. Admitted to the New York State bar, he worked as an intellectual property lawyer responsible for various international patent and trademark related works.

Seongkyu Lee has handled many foreign chemical cases at Koreana Patent & Law Firm. Upon receiving a Master in Biotechnology from the Graduate School of Agriculture at the University of Tokyo, he attained top-notch experience in drafting various patent prosecution and trial documents as a member of a Japanese patent firm in Japan.

Heekyoung Kim, as patent attorney, have engaged in various works, such as drafting patent specifications and translations in Law Firm Chungang. Gyujung Lee, an attorney-at-law received an LL.M. on Patent Law from George Washington University School of Law and is admitted to the New York State bar. He has experience in overseas patent-related work since he worked as a legal intern in Knobbe Martens, which is one of America’s largest IP law firm. Sung-Ae Kim is a US attorney who is admitted to the Washington D.C. She is fluent in English and has worked in the field related to international patent and trademark prosecution. Younghye Cha is a US attorney who is admitted to the Washington D.C. bar. She is fluent in English, Chinese, and Japanese.

Gyujung Lee, Hoonchan Kim, Hyejin Jung, and Seo-Ryoung Choi are lawyers who majored Materials Science and Engineering from Seoul National University, Mechanical Engineering from Yonsei University, Chemical Engineering from Korea University, and Physics and Astronomy from Seoul National University respectively, allowing them to be equipped with the knowledge of both engineering and law.

Seongkyu Lee has acquired substantial professional expertise in corporate patent management, patent mapping (patent analysis), technology licensing and valuation from his experience as head of the Patent Department and manager of the Technology Licensing Team at the Institute for Advanced Engineering.

Jongseop Yun is currently an active member of technology evaluation and licensing organizations such as Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Evaluation and Planning, Korea Technology Credit Guarantee Fund and Korea Technology Transfer Center. In addition, he has completed an international training course on technology evaluation and licensing at WIPO.
